Accommodation: Fleur de Lys sleeps 6 and boasts a stately lounge with a Grand Piano and large windows that panoramically frame the passing countryside.
Each of the 3 en-suite cabins are very spacious with 4 poster style beds, dressing room and beautiful tiled bathroom with either bath/shower combination or large shower.
The Fleur de Lys is furnished with authentic pieces collected on a trip to India 30 years ago. Of particular interest is the Telegraph that now stands in the lounge and acts as a night light. This gem of an item was discovered for sale on a street corner. A price was agreed with the vendor which included shipping. The Telegraph duly arrived 6 months later!
The separate dining room accommodates the most elegant candlelit dinners while the double state rooms feature canopied beds and en-suite bathrooms. Fleur de Lys also has a heated pool on its upper deck

Itineraries:
SUGGESTED ITINERARY - from DIJON to ST
JEAN
Sunday
Board Fleur de Lys at Dijon’s Port du Canal for a champagne
reception.
Monday
Cruise the Canal de Bourgogne from Dijon to Longecourt.
After lunch, visit Clos de Vougeot, a medieval château
surrounded by vineyards and the headquarters of the
Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose special label is annually
awarded to the finest Côte d’Or vintages.
Tuesday
After breakfast, take a walking tour past the elegant houses
of Dijon. Visit the Ducal Palace, market and “Maille”
mustard shop. After lunch on board, cruise the Canal de
Bourgogne and enter the River Saône before mooring in St-Jeande-Losne,
the barging capital of France.
Wednesday
Continue to cruise the peaceful valley of the River Saône
downstream to Seurre. Visit Beaune, the capital of the
Burgundy wine region, and the famous Hôtel-Dieu, Hospice de
Beaune. Reboard for a leisurely cruise to Chalon-sur-Saône,
one of the Saône Valley’s major cities.
Thursday
Cruise upstream and leave the River Saône by clearing the
lock to enter the Canal du Centre. Relax on board, cycle or
walk alongside at the leisurely pace of the barge. After
lunch, visit the Château de Rully before returning
to your countryside mooring in Rully.
Friday
A leisurely cruise gives you a chance to savour the beauty
of the French countryside before arriving at the quaint
village of St-Léger. Visit the 11th-century Châteaux
Marguerite de Bourgogne in Couches while, on board, the chef
prepares a memorable feast for your farewell dinner.
Saturday
Disembark after breakfast and transfer to Dijon for the
return TGV to Paris.
FAMILY CRUISE - from St
Leger to Dijon
Our suggested itinerary is perfect for
a family break.
Sunday -
Paris to Dijon.
Depart Paris, Gare de Lyon, on the TGV train. On arrival at
Le Cruesot station you are met by the Afloat in France guide
and transferred to the barge at St. Léger for your cruise
through Burgundy. A champagne reception welcomes you on
board and gives you a chance to meet the crew. Later that
evening enjoy your first dining experience on board.
Monday – Cruise to Rully.
Visit Château Marguerite de Bourgogne or Le Cruesot
Summer Bobsleigh.
A leisurely cruise on the Canal du Centre gives you a chance
to savor the beauty of the French countryside, there are
plenty of opportunities at the many locks to get off the
barge and walk or cycle along the splendid tow path. Later,
your guide takes you to Couches for a tour and wine tasting
at the magnificent Château Marguerite de Bourgogne or
alternatively visit the Summer Bobsleigh Park with it
various runs and a pool. Return to the barge moored in Rully.
Tuesday - Cruise to
Chalon-sur-Saône.
Visit Givrey Outward Bound Park.
Relax on board while the barge cruises the final section of
the Canal du Centre before entering the last and very deep
lock into the River Saône just north of Chalon-sur-Saône.
The scenery changes from the close proximity of the canal
banks to the expanse of this beautiful river. This afternoon
enjoy an action afternoon at the Accro Branche – an outward
bound park, there are several different levels, so fun for
all the family. Challenge your climbing skills, as you climb
high in the tree tops. Once back to Chalon perhaps take a
walk in to town and discover its quaint antique shops,
stunning Cathedral square and half timbered buildings. There
is free time to enjoy the fine shops, or perhaps just to sit
in one of the numerous pavement cafes enjoying an ice cream.
Wednesday - Cruise to St Jean de
Losne.
Visit Beaune Horse riding in Brazey.
A somewhat different cruising experience today, through the
lovely valley of the River Saône to the town of Verdun sur
Doubs. We then visit the wonderful town of Beaune where we
have lunch, and afterwards we visit the famous Hotel-Dieu,
Hospice de Beaune. The town with its tiny centre, has hardly
changed physically down the years, a circular boulevard runs
round its former ramparts, many of which still stand.
Within, there is a dense maze of narrow old streets.
Tonight’s mooring is at St Jean de Losne, the barging
capital of France, take some time to stroll around the ports
and see the many working barges and house boats that are
moored here. A short distance from St Jean is the village of
Brazey, where the family can enjoy some wonderful horse
riding, enjoy trekking through the country side on horse
back following the canal path or through the plains of the
Saone valley.
Thursday - Cruise to Longecourt.
Visit Dole Water Park.
This morning the barge leaves the river and enters the
Burgundy Canal. Enjoy the chance to walk or cycle along the
towpath. After a wonderful lunch on board, we visit Dole, a
pretty town with an interesting history. There is a
fantastic water park located just outside the town and here
we enjoy an afternoon in the water! There are various slides
and pools for all ages. The barge in moored tonight near
Longecourt.
Friday - Cruise to Dijon. Visit
Dijon.
Roller Skating. Jungle Kid or Grotte de Beze. Magician.
Today your guide takes you on a walking tour of Dijon to
visit the market, Ducal Palace, the Grey Poupon mustard
shop, and covered food market. There is a roller skating
park and go karts for the more adventurous. Also there is
‘Jungle Kid’ for smaller children, a covered area for
climbing and adventure. Or perhaps you would prefer to visit
the Caves at Beze, for an underground ‘mini’ cruise on a
rowing boat, through the caves. Tonight, the barge moors in
the port of Dijon. We finish the week with entertainment
from a magician before dinner, marvel at his tricks and be
amazed by his skill! Meanwhile the chef is busy on board
producing your Farewell gala dinner on board.
Saturday - Dijon to Paris.
After breakfast disembark and transfer to Dijon station.
Board the TGV to Paris, Gare de Lyon, where you will be met
by the Afloat in France representative who will assist you
with your luggage.
GOLF
CRUISE - from Escommes to Dijon

Sunday –
Paris to Dijon.
Depart Paris, Gare de Lyon, on the TGV train in the
afternoon. On arrival at Dijon station you are met by the
Afloat in France guide who escorts you on your transfer to
Escommes where you board the barge for your cruise through
Burgundy. A champagne reception welcomes you on board and
gives you a chance to meet the crew. A cocktail cruise
introduces you to the delights of cruising. Later that
evening enjoy your first dining experience on board.
Monday – Golf. Cruise to Pont
d’Ouche.
Visit Chateau de Pommard.
After breakfast, drive to Chateau de Chailly, this beautiful
Chateau provides a fabulous back drop to their 18 hole golf
course, or alternatively enjoy your first day cruising on
the Canal de Bourgogne. Small-unspoiled villages and green,
forested hills provide the traveler with exceptional views
from the deck. This afternoon, visit the Château of Pommard,
a stunning building dating from 1726 and surrounded by its
own vineyard. You will have the chance to visit its
exceptional cellar and sample its wines.
Tuesday – Cruise to La Bussière.
Visit Beaune and Golf.
Relax on-board this morning as the barge cruises towards the
charming village of La Bussière. After another delicious
lunch your guide escorts you to Beaune, capital of the
Burgundy wine producing region, for a visit to the famous
Hôtel-Dieu, Hospice de Beaune. Alternatively, play a round
of golf at Levernois, just 10 minutes drive from Beaune. It
is an 18 hole golf course with a par of 72, and has a
practice range and a putting green. Tonight’s mooring is at
another canal-side village, La Bussiere sur Ouche.
Wednesday - Cruise to Gissey.
Visit l’Abbaye de La Bussière.
Mid-morning, your guide takes you on a tour of l’Abbaye de
la Bussière built in the 12th century under the guidance of
the Cistercian monks from Citeaux. After a stroll in the
grounds we have our lunch here. After lunch your guide takes
you to visit Chateauneuf-en-Auxois a medieval hill-top
village. This is followed by a tour of the stunning
surrounding countryside, and the opportunity to see the
entrance to the 2 mile long canal tunnel and the largest of
the reservoirs which feed the Burgundy canal.
Thursday – Golf. Cruise to
Fleurey-sur-Ouche.
Visit Clos de Vougeot.
This morning there is the chance to play golf in Dijon,
there is an 18 hole course with a par of 72. This course is
very well maintained, with reasonably flat terrain and has
lovely views. The boat continues cruises through the Côte
d’Or an area producing some of the world’s most famous
wines. . After lunch, your guide takes you to visit “Clos de
Vougeot”, a medieval château surrounded by vineyards. This
is the headquarters of the Chevaliers du Tastevin, whose
special label is awarded annually to the finest Côte d’Or
vintages. On your way back to the barge, enjoy a wine
tasting in Vougeot.
Friday - Visit Dijon.
Cruise to Dijon.
After breakfast, your guide takes you on a walking tour of
Dijon, to visit the Ducal Palace, the market, and the Grey
Poupon mustard shop. Return to the boat for lunch and the
afternoon’s cruise. The barge moors for the night in Dijon’s
Port du Canal, a short distance from the town centre.
Meanwhile the chef is preparing a gala dinner for your last
evening on board.
Saturday – Dijon to Paris.
After breakfast, disembark and transfer to Dijon station for
your return on the TGV to Paris, Gare de Lyon. On arrival in
Paris you are met by the Afloat in France representative who
will assist you with your luggage.
