Your full day tour begins with a fully-guided tour of Versailles (1-hour) including the Royal Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, Queen's Bedroom and the Gallery of Battles. Enjoy lunch at La Petite Venise Restaurant. After lunch, it's time to explore the palace gardens and take a visit to the Queen's Hamlet, where Marie-Antoinette played at being a shepherdess in the 1780s. You'll then take a guided tour of the Grand Trianon (1 hour), a mini palace where Louis XV and Louis XVI liked to lead a quiet life outside the court of Versailles. It really made visiting Versailles easy...door to door service. I took the full day tour which was very informative. There's a lot to see and I'm glad I had a full day and a great guide. 2012-02-01 Robert , Versailles is an amazing must see destination! I liked this one because it covered all of the rooms and allowed time to wander the gardens but still was only half a day - good for our limited schedule. I was glad I went with a guide as she knew a wealth of information that couldn't be found just by walking around by ourselves. We were picked up at our hotel and our driver stayed with us all day guiding us around the grounds of Versailles. Lunch was included with this pkg and was very good. We were also picked up after lunch in the van by our guide so we did not have to walk the second half of the day out to the smaller houses.
We went during the winter so the fountains were not running which was a disappointment to some but I preferred the cool weather and NO CROWDS blessing over the fountains. The property is beautiful. I especially enjoyed the second half of the day viewing the small houses over the palace - if you had to choose. But I am very happy we did the whole day and not only half a day because neither of the halves should be missed. Highly recommend taking this relaxing day trip out of Paris. 2011-12-15 Connie , Best tour ever! So much to see and our guide was the absolute best - very well spoken and she was an archeologist - she really knew her facts! Our tour normally has up to 25 but our family (5) were the only ones - so excellent attention all the way. Was quite hot in the Roman Forum even for early Oct so take a hat and water!
