ITINERARY:
1st
Day:
STRASBOURG
Boarding between 18h
and 19h in Strasbourg (river mooring, rue du
Havre). Settling into your cabin. Presentation of the crew. Welcome
cocktail. Dinner on board. Free evening on board or optional nocturnal
trip by river boat through old Strasbourg (depending on availability).
2nd
Day: STRASBOURG –
RUDESHEIM
The boat will leave
Strasbourg early in the morning to sail to the
charming village of Rudesheim. Breakfast on board. Sailing past
numerous towns such as Spire and its cathedral, the impressive port
installations in Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. Worms (ancient bishopric),
Mainz (capital of Rhineland-Palatinate). Lunch on board. Arrival in
Rudesheim around 16h. Disembarkation and free time or optional tour,
departure in a small train stopping at a wine tasting cellar(1),
followed by a visit to the museum of mechanical music. Dinner on board.
Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse, the little street where
tourists from around the world come to taste the wine while singing
along with Rhineland bands. Back on board whenever you wish.
3rd
Day: RUDESHEIM –
KOBLENZ
Breakfast on board.
Departure of the boat at 9h for Koblenz on the most
beautiful section of the Romantic Rhine. During this cruise, you will
be able to discover Bacharach (a very old wine-making village), Kaub,
Oberwesel, and the innumerable picturesque castles which line the
Rhine, the rock of the Lorelei and Boppard, a typical village with
white houses and grey slate roofs. Lunch on board. Arrival in Koblenz
around 13h. Explore old Koblenz in the company of our hostess, dinner
and free evening in Koblenz.
4th
Day: KOBLENZ –
RUDESHEIM
Breakfast during the
cruise. Cruise up the most beautiful section of
the Romantic Rhine between Koblenz and Rudesheim. Lunch on board.
Arrival in Rudesheim around 17h. Free time or optional excursion to the
Monastery of Eberbach (depending on availability, reservation on board
only). Dinner on board. Free evening in the famous Drosselgasse and
back on board whenever you wish.
5th
Day: RUDESHEIM –
SPIRE or MANNHEIM
Departure of the boat
early in the morning to cruise up the Rhine to
Spire. Breakfast and lunch on board. We will pass the towns of
Wiesbaden, Nierstein, Worms (chance to take the optional excursion to
Heidelberg) and Mannheim. Arrival around 18h. Gala evening. Stopover in
Mannheim – Spire or Karlsruhe depending on berths available at the
wharf.
6th
Day: SPIRE or
MANNHEIM – STRASBOURG
Breakfast on board
.Arrival in Strasbourg around 9.00am (3 rue du
Havre). End of our journey.
